Here is an option to change your original startup/shutdown screen to a Winxp verison just like the computer with audio.

What you need:
usb data cable (bluetooth will not work)
P2kman
PST Phone Programmer (you need this to have p2kman working)
V600-XP file. GEt it here.
xvi32 edit tool. Get it here.

Start:
Turn off the motorola OEM startup/shutdown animiation.
Get seems 0032_0001,004a_0001. Make a backup copy and save it to any folder.
The moto startup is in 0032_0001 seem at offset 1D, bit #3
The moto shutdown is in 0032_001 seem at offset 31, bit #0

Now turn on the Custom startup/shutdown animation.
The custom startup in in 004a_0001 seem at offset 23. Set the offset to "01 to turn it on.
The custom shutdown is in 0032_0001 seem at offset 46, bit #0

When finish, upload these two files back to phone with P2kman.
*Don't close p2kman just yet.*

Now, you need to retreive some files from the V600-XP folder.
There are many to choice from. You can explore with your taste. I will use my examples for my V600 phone. Under wakeup and shutdown screen folder: Pick custwakeup_coolcut, and custgoodbye_coolcut. You will need to rename it to custwakeup & custgoodbye.

We are ready to download these files and others to phone.
For the custwakeup & custgoodbye gif files, download back to phone using extension /a/

Locate folder backgrounds-screensaver folder.
Download files backgrounds & sceensaver to phone using extension /a/mobile/picture/

Locate folder sounds.
Download files power~down & start~up to phone using extension /a/mobile/audio/
Note: I am not sure if using extension /a/ alone will work as well. Doing it with the fist extension listed will show up on the phone sound folder. I changed the attribute on mine so these files are hidden.

You are almost done.
The last thing we need to do is change the display color so it matches the XP wallpaper we are going to use.
Located folder xpv1.2 colour scheme.
Download spcolor to phone using extension /a/mobile/system/

Finally, do a restart on phone using the restart button located in p2kman.
Disconnect the phone. Once your back on the homescreen, choice the wallpaper & screensaver files you have downloaded.

Test your phone by shutting down and turning it back on.

You are done.
